What you can write

Write to anyone: a first love, a friend, a parent, someone you lost, or yourself. Love, gratitude, apologies, anger, grief and goodbyes are all welcome, as long as the message follows the rules below.

What is not allowed

• Surnames, phone numbers, addresses, usernames, workplaces, schools or any other detail that could identify a real person.
• Hate speech, or attacks on people because of their ethnicity, religion, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, disability or any similar trait.
• Threats, harassment, bullying, or messages meant to shame or expose someone.
• Strongly vulgar language, sexually explicit content, or any content that sexualises minors.
• Content that encourages violence, self-harm or illegal activity.
• Advertising, spam, links, or the same message posted again and again.
• Pretending to be someone else, or publishing private conversations or secrets someone shared with you in confidence.

How moderation works

Every message is checked by an automatic filter and, where needed, by a moderator before it is published, which is why new messages can take a while to appear. Memories on the map are checked by an automatic filter as well.

Anyone can report a message or memory with the Report button. We review reports and remove anything that breaks these rules. We may also reject or remove other content at our discretion.

If you are thinking about harming yourself, please contact your local emergency services or someone you trust right away. Të Pathënat is not a crisis service.

Daily limits

To prevent spam, there is a limit on how many messages you can send each day and on how many memories you can add to the map.

Your content

You keep ownership of what you write. By publishing it on Të Pathënat, you give us free, non-exclusive, worldwide permission to display it on the website and to share it on our social media accounts, for example in posts featuring selected messages. Messages are published anonymously, and we never attach your name to them.

Because messages are public, other people can read, search, like and share them. Only publish what you're comfortable seeing in public.

Removing a message

If you want a message or memory you wrote to be removed, email us at socials.tepathenat@gmail.com with a link to it. If a message mentions you and you would like it removed, use the Report button or write to us.

Using the website

• You must be at least 13 years old to use Të Pathënat.
• Don't try to disrupt the website, get around the daily limits, or collect messages automatically.
• Don't use the website to break any law.

Disclaimer

Messages and memories are written by visitors and reflect their views, not ours, and we do not verify what they say. The website is provided “as is”, without any guarantee that it will always be available or free of errors, and we are not responsible for content written by users.

Changes to these rules

We may update these rules from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows the latest version. If you keep using the website after a change, you accept the updated rules.
